Punjab District Courts Clerk Recruitment 2026 – SSSC 1270 Posts

The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (S.S.S.C.) under the High Court of Punjab and Haryana has issued Detailed Employment Notice No. 37C/SSSC/PB/2026 dated 03/10/2026 for Clerk posts in the District Courts of Punjab.

The notice invites online applications for 1,270 Clerk posts. Applications open on 07/10/2026 at 04:00 PM and close on 04/11/2026 at 04:00 PM.

The notice states that the number of vacancies may be increased or decreased without notice, depending on vacancies at the time of preparation of the merit list and posting. The High Court will decide the number of candidates to be recommended.

Crucial age date: 01/01/2026. Reserved-category fee concession and reservation benefits are generally restricted to bonafide residents of Punjab as specified in the notice.

The applicant should possess a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc), or equivalent from a recognized University.

For fresh recruitment/appointment on or after 17/07/2020, the Clerk post in the District Courts of Punjab carries ₹29,200/- (Level-5) as specified in the notice.

The fee is payable online and is non-refundable. Applicants selecting “Others” in the Gender field are charged according to their applicable category.

1. Online Written Examination / Computer Based Test (CBT).
2. English Composition objective and subjective components as prescribed.
3. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT), qualifying in nature.
4. Checking of original testimonials / interaction for candidates called at this stage.
5. Final merit based on the written examination CBT, as prescribed in the notice.

Qualifying condition: 33% in each subject, with at least 40% aggregate in the written CBT.

Negative marking: 1/4 mark is deducted for every wrong multiple-choice answer.

CPT: Spreadsheet Test of 10 marks/10 minutes, requiring at least 4 marks, followed by English typing at 30 WPM for candidates qualifying the spreadsheet test. CPT is qualifying only and its marks are not counted in final merit.
